Food Heroes Challenge is a Feed The Planet initiative that aims to raise awareness on sustainable eating of 30,000 children by the end of 2019. Together with Electrolux Food Foundation and AIESEC, chefs around the world are encouraged to organize workshops for children in their local communities beginning in April 2019 using a toolkit developed through the UNICEF sustainability initiative World’s Largest Lesson.

The toolkit is a ready-to-use lesson plan for a 70-min workshop, designed to captivate children aged 8 - 12. It includes lesson structure, activities, posters, videos, supporting materials and a template certificate of completion, making each child a Food Hero.

“One third of the food produced goes to waste while 800 million people in the world go to bed hungry”

This important fact needs to be passed on to future generations. As trendsetters in the food world, chefs should step up and be active drivers of sustainable changes among consumers. Become an ambassador of Feed The Planet and represent Worldchefs in your local community.
